Press Release from Constitutionally Conservative Republicans

The Ohio Republican Party has stooped to the lowest levels in the past couple months to assure its 66-member state central committee stays intact. The Ohio statewide Republican Party is made up of one elected male and female from each of Ohio's 33 State Senate Districts. These 66 people make decisions to fund and endorse numerous statewide, senate, and house elections using Republican state resources.

It has been nearly 147 years ago that President Abraham Lincoln delivered the historical Gettysburg Address.

The very short speech (10 sentences, 278 words) was intended to dedicate a section of one of the largest battlefields of the Civil War as a National Cemetery.

But Lincoln saw the opportunity to do more than dedicate a cemetery.  He seized the opportunity to speak of the dedication of the fallen heroes that had given their lives so that the country might live.

VAT versus Fair or Flat Tax

We all (except those in Washington) can agree that, if we are to climb out of this financial hole that the country is in, we must both cut spending and increase revenue.

In this time of economic recession, increased revenue from income taxes is not likely...therefore options to increase federal income are limited to more taxation.

Recently I was very upset because I do not like to be mocked and disrespected by anyone, let alone the President of my America.
When President Obama said, and I quote, 
 
"Since today happens to be tax day I should just point out that one-third of the Recovery Act went to tax cuts, tax cuts that strengthened the cornerstone of the American dream.  I've been a little amused over the last couple of days where people have been having these rallies about taxes.

Broken, complicated, corrupted, expensive, destructive and unfair are the words that best describe the federal income tax system after almost a hundred years of being treated like the personal piggy bank of tax lobbyists and members of Congress.

This is not a simple pigsty but one that is so complex it cost taxpayers and American businesses more than $300 billion last year in paperwork costs, alone, before a penny of tax was paid. What people owe but don’t pay amounted to more than $350 billion last year—a shortfall that, to make up, increased the average taxpayer’s bill by more than a third.
