Consumer Financial Protection Agency

E-mail Print PDF

The Obama Administration is firing legislation through the Congress at a furious pace.  There are two reasons behind the activity.  1. They are hoping that the electorate is busy concentrating on the Gulf oil spill and are too busy to notice the congressional schedule.  2. The administration is scurrying to get as much of their progressive agenda passed before they lose the majority in Congress in November.

Pasted below is an appeal by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to assist in defeating the Consumer Financial Protection Agency Bill.  Like all political bills the title is designed to sound like something very desirable.

Strawberries on the Square

E-mail Print PDF

We had an excellent time this past weekend at The Strawberries on the Square in downtown Newark!  Forcing myself to do this type of event was necessary because this is so far out of my comfort zone it isn't even funny.  Getting the nerve to ask people to sign the petition was difficult at first and then it began to get fun.  After seeing the same people making their rounds we began to jokingly harass them and made a joke out of the whole thing.

We endured a horrible storm Friday night that took down a tree about 45 feet behind us and blew over a trailer about 40 feet in front of us - all the while 4 of us are holding onto the metal support on our canopy - in a lightening storm.  Just what Momma always said not to do.

We're Backed Into a Corner...

E-mail Print PDF
None of us came to this point in our lives to begin fighting for our freedoms.  We've all been working hard making a living, building our lives and our families.  None of us ever would have believed that we would be so close to losing so many of the freedoms we've grown accustomed to...
...Until now.   In these difficult days of uncertainty and distrust of our government, many, many of us feel like we've been backed into a corner and we have no choice to but to stand up and fight for what we see being taken away.  Fight not only for ourselves, but for our children and their children---to somehow preserve what we've worked so hard all our lives to leave behind for them; for what our parents worked and fought so hard to leave behind for us.  They're backing us into a corner.

Healthcare Freedom Amendment - The Ohio Project

E-mail Print PDF

Do you want to be forced into a specific healthcare plan? Do you want to have your doctor chosen for you by force, regardless of your personal feelings or his/her competence? Do you want your treatment to be approved based on the opinion of bureaucratic/financial process rather than what your needs entail and without any challenge to this decision? Do you want to be fined financially if you choose not to partake in this national healthcare?

What is the Healthcare Freedom Amendment about?

This is a proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution which would give the residents of Ohio the freedom to choose their own healthcare, rather than to be forced into a decision by national mandates.  This does not stop/block the national healthcare in the state of Ohio, but rather gives each resident the choice to accept the national healthcare, or their own choice of coverage (or non-coverage if wanted) without being punished by fines/taxes for their decision.
